(Jn 6.41-51)

Being the Bread of life poses not much intrigue on the Jewish mind.  What makes it an object of murmur is the claim of Jesus that this Bread “comes down from heaven,” and “the Bread that I will give is my flesh.”  It’s really and indeed a heavy statement and it makes the Jew’s sceptical reaction understandable.

Thanks God, we don’t have the same biblical Jewish struggle for accepting the Lord Jesus in a small piece of communion Bread with a firm faith that It is His body, It is His flesh.  It is the Father, only and always the Father, who can draw us to receive Jesus in His body as the Bread of Life.

It is a Father’s gift to have faith in Jesus.

That’s how the Father works in our life:  to come to Jesus and be nourished in Him.

Do we allow Him to feed us well?
