A vibrant and living Catholic community witnessing and celebrating their faith mindful of their Filipino spiritual values and traditions with a distinct Marian character while fully and responsibly participating in and enriching their respective parishes.
We, the Filipino Chaplaincy, inspired by the life and teachings of Christ, and professing filial devotions to His Beloved Mother, aspire:
Lord Jesus, the bounty of the harvest keeps growing. And yet labourers who work in your vineyard, remain scarce and in constant exposure to exhaustion and scorn.
You keep sounding your invitation: “Ask the Lord of the harvest to send more labourers.” We ask you, through the intercession of Mary, our Mother, San Lorenzo Ruiz, San Pedro Calungsod and all the Saints, to bless the Filipino Chaplaincy in our Diocese with bountiful vocations that it may continue to serve your church with passion and zeal.
With much hope in the power you bestowed on prayer, offered in perfect communion among your people, we dare to ask you, O Lord, to make our lives your constant and living encouragement for our young men and women to heed your call. Make the Filipino families their shining inspirations of faith to get them firmly decide in joining the rank of those who are chosen.
In your mighty name, O Lord Jesus, we make this prayer. Amen.
God of love, Heavenly Father, You gather us together in our faith journey. Trusting in You and the intercession of our dear Mother Mary, we join one another as a community of faith on a journey. We praise You for the gift of the Filipino Chaplaincy Pastoral Council Wellington Archdiocese and everyone who serves in it. Thank You for calling them (mention names of FCPC servant council, barangay servants and other servants too), for their courage, their service, their leadership.
We pray that You will give them wisdom in every decision, and help them to think clearly to see brokenness in our communities and to understand people where they are. Help them to lead and govern with integrity and be strong and effective servants.
We pray that your Holy Spirit will guide them as they lead us to unity and reconciliation, champion justice, call us to radical love and service of others, and cultivate an intimate personal relationship with our Saviour Jesus Christ. Grant them discernment and direct their steps according to Your Word. Help them to have courage to be witnesses of the truth and to stand firm in their faith in You, no matter what they are facing day-to-day.
Be their defender and protector, and keep them always on guard. Bless also that all their endeavour will be a vessel of your grace and mercy, an occasion of conversion of mind, body, heart and soul to be more like Jesus and Mother Mary.
Help all of us be reminded of your Love, of your sacrifice for us, of your ever mindful presence. For it is in your Love and the Graces you bestow upon us, that we can go out and share in your Love and Faith. Through the intercession of our Mother Mary and in communion with all the angels and saints in Heaven, we pray this in Jesus name. Amen.
Here we are, O Lord, Holy Spirit, we stand before you conscious of our sinfulness, but aware that we gather in your name.
Come to us, remairt with us, and enlighten our hearts. Give us light and strength to know your will, to make it our own, and to live it in our lives.
Guide us by your wisdom, support us by your power, for you are God, sharing the glory of Father and Son.
You desire justice for all: enable us to uphold the rights of others; do not allow us to be misled by ignorance or corrupted by fear or favour.
Unite us to yourself in the bond of love and keep us faithful to all that is true.
As we gather in your name may we temper justice with love, so that all our decisions may be pleasing to you, and earn the reward promised to good and faithful servants.
You live and reign with the Father and the Son, One God, forever and ever. Amen
